This street festival features concerts, games, activities and live broadcasts of the Third Place and Final matches from 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™
The free event runs from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on July 12th and 13th
CBC is proud to partner with CIBC to bring Canadians CIBC Soccer Nation, a seven-city viewing tour each weekend throughout 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, bringing the beautiful game to audiences in communities across the country. This weekend marks the seventh and final stop on the cross-country tour witha two-day street party in downtown Toronto outside of the Canadian Broadcast Centre at the corner of Front St. and John St. Each CIBC Soccer Nation event is made possible with additional support from adidas. Budweiser is also a supporter of the Toronto CIBC Soccer Nation event.
Soccer fans of all ages are encouraged to dress in the colours of their favourite teams and take part in CIBC Soccer Nation’s tour celebrating the beautiful game across Canada. Fun activities for the entire family on Saturday will include a live viewing of the Third Place match on giant screens, a CBC Music concert featuring performances by Shad, Alysha Brilla and Brazilian band Batucada Cairoca and dancers hosted by CBC Toronto’s Steven D’Souza (@cbcsteve) and Rich Terfry (@CBCR2Drive).
On Sunday, fans will be able to take in the Final match as well as a CBC Music concert featuring Maestro and Jordan John as well as special performances by a Batucada Cairoca and dancers hosted by CBC Toronto’s Dwight Drummond (@dwightdrummond) and Mariel Borelli. Plus, fans will have the chance to share their favourite 2014 FIFA World Cup™ moment at the CBC Toronto Community video booth.
In addition, the CIBC Cheer Booth and adidas adi-zone will be open all weekend offering prizes, and more fun activities for soccer fans of all ages. Fans will also be able to enjoy the Budweiser beer garden on both Saturday and Sunday. CIBC KidSport athlete ambassadors and CIBC Team Next mentor and former National Soccer Team member Kara Lang along with mentee Jessie Fleming, Right To Play athlete ambassadors including Rosie MacLennan will be on-site throughout the weekend meeting fans.
