CBC PREMIERES AUSTRALIAN CRIME THRILLER SECRETS & LIES

New six-episode multi-platform series to air Mondays at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) beginning July 7 on CBC-TV

Audiences will be left clinging to the edge of their seats as they tune in this summer to the gripping new psychological thriller SECRETS & LIES. The Australian drama series is set to premiere on July 7, and marks the first of many impressive international titles scheduled to air on CBC this year.

Produced by award-winning, multi-platform production company HOODLUM Pty Ltd., SECRETS & LIES takes a nerve-wracking look behind the curtains of suburbia, engaging audiences as the story unfolds across various platforms. The series follows Ben Gundelach (Martin Henderson), an everyday family man who finds the body of a four-year-old-boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect. As his world splits apart, Ben finds himself with no choice but to clear his name. With his marriage, his kids, his reputation and his sanity at stake, audiences are left wondering, is he innocent or is he guilty?

Viewers are invited to delve deeper into the police investigation as they are given exclusive access to the lives of the characters and the opportunity to discover new clues. Six webisodes, presented from the perspective of homicide detective Ian Cornielle (Anthony Hayes), will air weekly on cbctv.ca extending the story beyond the TV episodes.
