Home cooks from Toronto, Ontario, Île-Bizard, Quebec and Halifax, Nova Scotia compete in the fifth episode, airing Wednesday, March 26 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV
In the fifth episode of RECIPE TO RICHES, airing Wednesday, March 26 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV, an architectural designer from Île-Bizard, Quebec, a mom and marketer from Toronto, Ontario and an amateur athlete from Halifax, Nova Scotia compete to find out whose savoury snacks will appear as a President’s Choice® product at select Loblaw banner stores across the county and compete in the live series finale for a chance to win a grand prize of $250,000.
Roshini Mellaram is an architectural designer who insists on everything being “just so.” The self-professed control freak lives just outside of Montreal in Île-Bizard and believes her greatest strengths in the competition are her fierce intelligence and organizational skills. If Izumi Kyle‘s life had a soundtrack, it would be Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman.” The Toronto mother of two is a master multi-tasker, constantly balancing her career, family, marathon training, making art and testing out new recipes in the kitchen. With a difficult year behind her, winning RECIPE TO RICHES would mean the world to Kyle and be a defining break from the hardships of last year. Originally from Newfoundland but now settled in Halifax, Cyra Belbin is a ferociously competitive athlete with more trophies and awards than she could ever display. With her drive and focus, Belbin claims she can achieve anything and will channel her athletic temperament into winning RECIPE TO RICHES.
Each competitor will need to impress RECIPE TO RICHES’ esteemed panel of judges, featuring marketing guru Arlene Dickinson, chef and entrepreneur Vikram Vij and food expert Gail Simmons. RECIPE TO RICHES is hosted by actor and food-lover Carlo Rota. RECIPE TO RICHES was created and produced by Temple Street Productions.
