THIRD SET OF COMPETITORS GO HEAD TO HEAD IN CBC'S RECIPE TO RICHES SAVOURY PIE CHALLENGE

Home-cooks from Ottawa, Ontario, Welland, Ontario and Parksville, British Columbia compete in the third episode, airing Wednesday, March 12 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV
 
 
In the third episode of RECIPE TO RICHES, airing Wednesday, March 12 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV, an I.T. guy from Ottawa, ON, a retiree from Welland, ON and a beach girl from Parksville, BC compete to find out whose savoury pie will appear as a President’s Choice® product at select Loblaw banner stores across the county and compete in the live series finale for a chance to win a grand prize of $250,000.
 
A self-proclaimed nerd’s nerd, Don Chow‘s passion in life is food. The Ottawa, ON native would one day love to open his own restaurant, a dream that he may finally have the chance to explore if he succeeds in RECIPE TO RICHES. Don’s professional grade knowledge of ingredients and flavours will be his secret weapon. A retired 74 year old, Welland, Ontario’s Alcide Desveaux is a true Acadian who describes his cooking style as “real cooking… the old school way”, meaning he likes real, wholesome food and doesn’t skimp on rich ingredients. Alcide’s faith in his old school ways along with his great cooking instincts will give him the confidence to be a serious contender in RECIPE TO RICHES. Parksville, BC’s Sheena Thomas sees herself as the “come back kid”. Having met her fair share of challenges, she believes winning the competition will change the course of her life. Sheena finds inspiration in her cooking from the wide variety of food she has tried through her love of traveling.
 
Each competitor will need to impress RECIPE TO RICHES’ esteemed panel of judges, featuring marketing guru Arlene Dickinson, chef and entrepreneur Vikram Vij and food expert Gail Simmons. RECIPE TO RICHES is hosted by actor and food-lover Carlo Rota. RECIPE TO RICHES was created and produced by Temple Street Productions.
