CBC'S RECIPE TO RICHES ANNOUNCES SECOND SET OF COMPETITORS TO FACE OFF IN ENTRÉE CHALLENGE

Competitors from New Westminster, B.C. , Guelph, Ontario and Brampton, Ontario battle in the second episode, airing Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV

RECIPE TO RICHES is proud to announce the three competitors appearing in the second episode, Wednesday, Mar. 5 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV. A designer from New Westminster, B.C., a youth worker from Guelph, Ontario and a military man from Brampton, Ontario go head-to-head, with the three best entrées that Canadian home cooks have to offer. The winning entrée will appear as a President’s Choice® product at select Loblaw banner stores across the country and compete in the live series finale for a chance to win a grand prize of $250,000.

As a designer, Melissa Gilbert never uses patterns when making her clothes; instead she relies on visualization - a tactic that lends itself well to recipe creation. The New Westminster native is visualizing winning the competition and plans to use the prize money to help the elderly and save animals in Africa. Born to Iranian parents, Guelph’s Marjan Mogharrabi values all the opportunities life in Canada has afforded her. Her drive to make the most of every chance that comes her way makes her a competitor to watch out for. After serving in the Canadian army, Winslow Taylor returned to Brampton with a new appreciation for the fragility of life. His training has prepared him for the RECIPE TO RICHES competition, teaching him not only to be cool under pressure, but how to delegate and organize in even the most chaotic situations.

Each competitor will need to impress RECIPE TO RICHES’ esteemed panel of judges, featuring marketing guru Arlene Dickinson, chef and entrepreneur Vikram Vij and food expert Gail Simmons. RECIPE TO RICHES is hosted by actor and food-lover Carlo Rota. RECIPE TO RICHES was created and produced by Temple Street Productions.
