B.C. native’s recipe inspires new President’s Choice® Milk Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Cups
RECIPE TO RICHES made its season premiere this evening, with three home-cooks battling it out over their signature dessert recipes. Jesse Meredith of Coquitlam, B.C. impressed the judges with his Milk Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Cups, beating out Erika Pauze’s Maple Bacon Butter Tarts and Brad Reinsch’s Co Co Nut Nut Bars. As well, starting this weekend, Canadians can purchase President’s Choice® Milk Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Cups at select Loblaw banner stores across the country.
Jesse’s Milk Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Cups are a one-bite treat, combining hand-held chocolate cups, a crunchy graham-cookie crumb, luscious raspberry filling and a creamy cream cheese topping. This recipe was inspired by his little sister, who was sick and unable her eat her favourite dessert. Jesse’s victory last night earned him $25,000 and a spot in the live series finale on Wednesday, April 2 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV for a chance to win $250,000.
Next week’s episode of RECIPE TO RICHES airs on Wednesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV and features the entrée category. Each competitor will need to impress an esteemed panel of judges, featuring marketing guru Arlene Dickinson, chef and entrepreneur Vikram Vij and food expert Gail Simmons.
