Audience members can accumulate points to vote for the winner of Recipe to Riches, premiering Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV
CBC-TV today announced the launch of the RECIPE TO RICHES Trivia application, created by Telescope, the industry leader of audience participation, consumer engagement and social television solutions.
Recipe to Riches is a competition-style reality series featuring amateur Canadian cooks as they work to create and share their innovative, favourite personal recipes with the country. Each one of the episodes features a different food category with a weekly winner being selected as the finalist. RECIPE TO RICHES was created and produced by Temple Street Productions.
Beginning Wednesday, February 26, the trivia app will give the RECIPE TO RICHES audience a chance to accumulate voting points by answering trivia questions. You can earn up to a maximum of two votes per episode. In total, viewers can gain up to 8 bonus votes that they can use to elect the show’s winner. Weekly winners then move on to compete in the series finale on Wednesday, April 2 for the grand prize of $250,000.
“We’re excited to be able to engage with our audience on a multi-platform level,” said Paul McGrath, executive producer, interactive at CBC. “It’s a great way to build momentum throughout the season and to involve the audience from day one”.
“RECIPE TO RICHES demonstrates the importance of offering pervasive engagement experiences to audiences keen to interact and affect their favorite shows,” said Jason George, CEO of Telescope. “As cross-screen interactivity continues to evolve, we’re pleased to offer the latest technology and loyalty mechanics for audiences and networks alike.”
The Telescope platform powering the participation for RECIPE TO RICHES is the same technology that drives consumer interactivity for leading brands, sports associations, and television shows, including the NBA’s Sprite Slam Dunk, NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series, American Idol on FOX, and most recently, the “Instant Save” on NBC’s The Voice.
