CBC'S RECIPE TO RICHES REVEALS COMPETITORS TO SQUARE OFF IN SEASON PREMIERE DESSERT CHALLENGE

Competitors from Coquitlam, B.C. , Penetanguishene, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta face off in the first episode, airing Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV

RECIPE TO RICHES is proud to announce the three competitors appearing in the season premiere, Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) on CBC-TV. An aspiring actor from Coquitlam, B.C., a farm girl from Penetanguishene, Ontario and a bobsledder from Calgary, Alberta go head-to-head, with the three best desserts that Canadian home cooks have to offer.

Jesse Meredith is in the competition because “he wants to be seen.” The Coquitlam native takes the same approach to RECIPE TO RICHES as he does to acting - it’s all about the big impact. Jesse will be pulling out all the stops when it comes to impressing the judges. Erica Pauze is a self-described RECIPE TO RICHES super-fan. Hailing from the small town of Penetanguishene, this optimistic 19-year-old says that winning this competition will help make her dream of owning a bakery a reality. Calgary’s Brad Reinsch is Canada’s fourth-best bobsledder, making him one seat shy of being on the Olympic team. Unsurprisingly, Brad is obsessed with healthy eating and would love to see Canadians eat healthier - even dessert.

Each competitor will need to impress RECIPE TO RICHES’ esteemed panel of judges, featuring marketing guru Arlene Dickinson, chef and entrepreneur Vikram Vij and food expert Gail Simmons. RECIPE TO RICHES is hosted by actor and food-lover Carlo Rota. The winning dessert will appear as a President’s Choice® product at select Loblaw banner stores across the county and compete in the live series finale for a chance to win a grand prize of $250,000. RECIPE TO RICHES was created and produced by Temple Street Productions.
