12 Million Canadians Watched Live as Canada’s Men’s Ice Hockey Team Beat Finland in OT

CBC/Radio-Canada promised to deliver Canadians the most engaging and comprehensive Olympic Winter Games coverage, and we’re fulfilling that promise as record audiences tune in. Day 9 (Sunday, Feb. 16) was no exception as an average audience of more than 5.1 million viewers tuned in for Olympic Daytime across all platforms. The Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey game between Canada and Finland contributed to the record audience, along with the Figure Skating Ice Dance Short Program. 12 million Canadians tuned in live to watch Canada beat Finland 2-1 in OT, while 4.7 million Canadians watched the Ice Dance Short Program live. In total, almost 23.5 million Canadians tuned in on Day 9, more than any other day of the Olympics so far.
