NINETY PER CENT OF CANADIANS HAVE TUNED IN TO CBC/RADIO-CANADA'S OLYMPIC COVERAGE SINCE FEBRUARY 6

More than 8.4 million Canadians watched Canada beat Norway 3-1 on Day 6

Day 6 (Thursday, Feb. 13) marks the highest reported weekday audience, with a total of 2.586 million viewers for CBC’s Olympic Daytime across all platforms. The Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey game between Canada and Norway contributed to the record number of viewers. Almost one in four Canadians (8.4 million) tuned in to watch the showdown, with 1.4 million of those viewers watching online. More Canadians tuned in to CBC/Radio-Canada Olympic content on Day 6 (February 13, 2014) than on any other day of the Games so far (including Day 0 with the Opening Ceremony), with a total reach of 22.8 million.

Day 6 (Feb. 13):
• Canadians continue to tune in to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Olympic coverage each day. More than 31.1 million Canadians have tuned in to Olympic content on either a French or English platform since February 6 (90 per cent of all Canadians), an increase of more than half a million views over Day 5 (Feb. 12, 2014).

Digital:
• The number of Canadians who have watched Olympic content on a Digital platform increased by 23 per cent on Day 6 with almost one million more Canadians tuning in online. This brings the total number of Canadians who have watched Olympic content online since Feb. 6 to 5.1 million (or 15 per cent of the population).
•The first Canadian Men’s Ice Hockey game posted the highest online viewing audience ever to a CBC live event, with an average audience of more than 200,000 on desktop and mobile devices combined.
