Following his performance in the Men’s Figure Skating Short Program yesterday, three-time world champion, Patrick Chan looks to continue his quest for gold in the Men’s Figure Skating Free Skate. The Canadian Men’s Ice Hockey team will face off against Austria. In Men’s Curling, Canada will battle against Norway.

OLYMPIC MORNING:
MEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: MEN’S 15KM CLASSIC FINAL (5:30 - 7 a.m. ET) on CBC
2013 World Champion Petter Northug of Norway is the likely favourite, who won four Olympic medals in Vancouver, including two gold, one silver, and a bronze. Russian-born Ivan Babikov is scheduled to be the top Canadian, who had an impressive fourth place finish at the 2013 World Championships.
ALPINE SKIING: MEN’S SUPER COMBINED (SLALOM) FINAL (6:15 -7:40 a.m. ET on Sportsnet)

Ivica Kostelic is the world leader of the overall ranking in Super Combined in 2013. Ted Ligety of the U.S. is the 2006 Torino Champion, who was 5th in Vancouver, but is the 2013 World Combined Champion along with winning the Super-G and Giant Slalom titles. Morgan Pridy is the only Canadian scheduled to race.

Eric Nielson and John Fairbairn of Calgary will represent Canada. Since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, Martins Dukurs of Latvia has won three world titles and Alexander Tretyakov has captured one, so they will have tough competition. No medals will be presented in the Men’s rounds.
Canadians Sarah Reid and Mellisa Hollingsworth are representing Canada. Reid, the 2006 Olympic bronze medalist in this event, has made the podium on a few occasions this season and Hollingsworth is looking to better her finish from Vancouver. The 2013 World Champion Marion Thees and Anja Huber who is also the 2010 Olympic bronze medallist hope to continue German dominance of this sport.
BIATHLON: WOMEN’S 15KM INDIVIDUAL (8:45 -10:55 a.m. ET) on Sportsnet
Rosanna Crawford, Zina Kocher, Megan Imrie and Megan Heinicke are scheduled to represent Canada. Tora Berger of Norway is the 2013 World Champion at 15km and the 2010 Olympic Champion.
OLYMPIC DAYTIME:
MEN’S FIGURE SKATING: FREE SKATE (10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. ET) on TSN
Canadians Patrick Chan and Kevin Reynolds are on the hunt for the elusive Olympic men’s skating title. Over the years Canada has had 7 different male World Champions - never an Olympic Champion. Canada’s Liam Furis will also compete. Russian Evgeny Plyushchenko has pulled out due to a back injury.
MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: CANADA VS. AUSTRIA (12 - 2:30 p.m. ET) on CBC

Thomas Vanek and the Austrian team will have a tough time against Canada.

MacKenzie Boyd-Clowes along with Dusty Korek, Trevor Morrice and Matthew Rowley will compete for Canada in this qualification round. Kamil Stoch of Poland is the 2013 World Champion, winning at Val de Femme in Italy. Simon Ammann is a double Olympic Champion at both 2002 and 2010 with four gold medals and is the first man to win gold medals in both individual ski jumping events at the Olympics.

OLYMPIC PRIMETIME hosted by Ron MacLean, CBC-TV and cbc.ca/olympics will be bringing Canadians context from the fourth day of Olympic Competition from Sochi. Check local listings for start times. The full broadcast schedule can be found here.

Marie-Michelle Gagnon is scheduled to compete for Canada. The 2013 World Cup Overall leader Tina Maze of Slovenia won the Super-G title at the 2013 World Championships, and is also the silver medallist in the Super-G at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Julia Mancuso of the U.S. is the 2013 World bronze medallist in Super G. Four- time World Cup Super-G Champion, Lindsey Vonn of the U.S. who was 3rd place finish in Vancouver in the Super G will not be part of Sochi 2014.
SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING: MEN’S 1,000M (5:45 -7:55 a.m. ET) on TSN
Canadian Charles Hamelin won the Olympic Test event in Sochi and finished 4th in Vancouver 2010. The Canadian team’s biggest challenge will be China and Korea’s Yoon-Gy Kwak, the current World Record holder at this distance. Charles has the chance to win his second medal of the Games.
MEN’S CURLING - CANADA VS. GREAT BRITAIN (5-8 a.m. ET) on TSN2
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: WOMEN’S 4x5KM RELAY (CLASSIC/FREE) FINAL (5:30-6:30 a.m. ET on Sportsnet and Sportsnet One)
Daria Gaiazova, Perianne Jones, Emily Nishikawa and Brittany Webster will be the relay team for Canada. The Norweigans are the defending Olympic champions and are expected to capture the gold again.
