CBC has partnered with Universal Music Canada and Sony Music Entertainment Canada to debut five brand new, Olympic-themed singles by Canadian artists during the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, including the Canadian Olympic Committee’s official anthem for our 2014 Canadian Olympic Team.
Each song will become the soundtrack to a montage of the most powerful recent Olympic images and debut during Olympic Primetime, hosted by Ron MacLean daily from 7-10 p.m. on CBC-TV, and will replay during Olympic Overnight and Olympic Morning.
The Fresh Track videos will also be featured prominently on the CBC Olympics, CBC Music and the CBC Sports websites. Blog posts written by the artists will discuss the inspiration behind their songs and how they fit with the Olympic theme.
The five Fresh Tracks are:
• Toronto-born Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson @fefedobson premieres her track Celebrate on Thursday, Feb. 6
• MuchMusic Video Award-winning Toronto rap-rock group Down With Webster @DOWNWITHWEBSTER premieres their track Feel So Alive on Sunday, Feb. 9 They will also tape a live session with CBCMusic.ca and will perform the song.
• Juno Award-winner, Canadian singer-songwriter, actor, and radio and television host
Roch Voisine @RochVoisineRVI premieres his track Living Out My Dreams (the Canadian Olympic Committee’s official anthem for 2014 Canadian Olympic Team)
on Thursday, Feb. 12. Jian Ghomeshi will interview Roch from Sochi on CBC Radio One‘s Q on Monday, Feb. 17. Listen to a stream of the song on CBCMusic.ca First Play starting Tuesday, Feb. 4.
• Multiple Juno Award-winner and Montreal native Sam Roberts Band @samrobertsband - premieres his track Broken Teeth on Saturday, Feb. 15. George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight will interview Sam Roberts on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET (12:30 a.m. NT).
• Powerhouse singer and Star Academie finalist Andee @andeeofficial premieres her track We Are Gold on Wednesday, Feb. 19

CBC Music will also run a special Gold Medal Mix web radio station starting Friday, Feb. 7 at noon ET, featuring hours of inspirational pump-up music from Katy Perry’s Roar to Hedley’s I Can Do Anything’, Pharrell Williams’Happy and Haim’s Forever, to keep listeners motivated throughout their day when the going gets tough.

During the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, cbc.ca/olympics will offer Canadians 12 commentated, multilateral feeds—this is a Canadian first. The most up-to-date version of the daily schedule across all networks will be available at cbc.ca/olympics as of February 3. The website also features the latest news, sports and videos from Sochi 2014. This will be the first Olympic Winter Games where Canadians will be able to livestream all events directly to their smartphone or tablet.
