THE 2013 CCMA AWARDS ANNOUNCE CBC-TV's RON JAMES, CANADIAN OLYMPIANS MELLISA HOLLINGSWORTH AND KALLIE HUMPHRIES, AS WELL AS COUNTRY MUSIC STARS MICHELLE WRIGHT, DEAN BRODY, HUNTER HAYES AND MORE TO PRESENT

Canadian country music’s biggest night takes over Edmonton on Sunday, September 8 and airs at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC-TV.
CBC LIVE will bring viewers a live stream from the 2013 CCMA Awards John Deere Green Carpet and Backstage starting at 5p.m. ET at cbc.ca/live
 
CBC-TV is the home of the 2013 Canadian Country Music Association Awards™, and will broadcast the celebration of Canadian country music from the Rexall Centre in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday, September 8 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT), with encore airings on CMT (Canada) starting at 10 pm ET. Viewers will also have a chance to win a trip for two to the 2014 Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Edmonton by tuning in to the broadcast for contest details.
 
Confirmed to join the festivities this year are comedian Ron James of CBC’s The Ron James Show, Olympic medal winners and Sochi 2014 hopefuls, Skeleton competitor Mellissa Hollingsworth and Bobsledder Kallie Humphries, and Edmonton Oilers Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent Hopkins and Justin Schultz, will share the presenting honours with shining Canadian country music stars including Carroll Baker, Dean Brody, Lisa Brokop, Jaida Dreyer, Adam Gregory, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Corb Lund, Beverly Mahood, Charlie Major, Mackenzie Porter, Jimmy Rankin, Hey Romeo, The Stellas and Michelle Wright. International sensations Hunter Hayes and Darius Rucker are also slated to present, as well as model and actress Ashley Diana Morris and CMT’s Paul McGuire.
 
The CCMA Awards will also feature live performances by some of today’s biggest country acts, including Canadian artists Emerson Drive, Dallas Smith, Dean Brody, Kira Isabella, High Valley, Chad Brownlee, George Canyon, Jason Blaine, Gord Bamford, Deric Ruttan, Brett Kissel, Autumn Hill, Tebey, Tim Hicks, Small Town Pistols and Bobby Wills. As well, platinum-selling international artists The Band Perry, Darius Rucker and Hunter Hayes are slated to take the stage and perform.
 
In addition to the broadcast coverage of the 2013 CCMA Awards on CBC-TV, CBC Live will bring viewers all of the excitement from the 2013 CCMA Awards John Deere Green Carpet with a live stream from 3 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. MT (5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. ET). Watch as CBC News arts reporter Deana Sumanac and CBC Radio 2 Morning host Tom Power get an exclusive look at the John Deere Green Carpet arrivals and fashion, including pre-gala interviews with many of the top presenters, performers and nominees. Then at 5 p.m. MT (7 p.m. ET), CBC Live will have an exclusive live stream from backstage at Rexall Place. Hosts Deana Sumanac and Tom Power get the first reactions and interview from the 2013 CCMA Awards presenters, nominees and winners immediately after they come off stage. Both streams can be viewed at cbc.ca/live and will be available on demand at CBCMusic.ca/CCMA.
