The lineup of performers grows as the countdown to the 2013 CCMA Awards Broadcast on Sunday, September 8 heats up!
Today, the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) announced that 2013 Canadian Country Music Association Awards™ nominees Autumn Hill, Gord Bamford, Dean Brody, and international sensation Hunter Hayes are confirmed to join the 2013 CCMA Awards Broadcast performance line-up on Sunday, September 8 in Edmonton, Alberta.
These newly announced performers join previously announced Canadian superstars George Canyon, Emerson Drive, High Valley, Kira Isabella, and Dallas Smith, as well as multi-Platinum international artists The Band Perry, and Darius Rucker.
“This year’s line-up for the CCMA Awards Broadcast will have a little something for everyone,” said CCMA President, Don Green. “Country music fans will see rising talent, Canadian icons, and international stars on one stage, for one night only. This is going to be a great night for country music in Canada—and we still have more announcements to come!”
2013 CCMA Rising Star Award nominee Autumn Hill heads to Edmonton riding high on the success of their radio singles ‘Anything At All’ and ‘Can’t Keep Waiting’ which were both embraced by Canadian country fans, each breaking into the Top 10 at country radio. The Toronto-based duo is slated to release their debut album Favourite Mistake on September 10.
Gord Bamford leads the pack in 2013 with seven CCMA Award nominations for CCMA Fans’ Choice, Album of the Year (presented by Walmart), CMT Video of the Year, Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Record Producer(s) of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year. His latest album Is It Friday Yet? has garnered five country radio hits including the title track ‘Is it Friday Yet?’ and a 2013 CCMA Single of the Year nomination for ‘Leaning On A Lonesome Song’.
With five CCMA Award nominations this year, Dean Brody also shares in two additional nominations for collaborations with CMT (Canada) and Terri Clark. Already a six-time CCMA Award winner, Brody continues to ride on the success of his Gold-selling third album DIRT. Raised in Jaffray, BC, the singer-songwriter has become a household name in Canadian Country music. This year alone, he has been nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2013 JUNO Awards, named one of HELLO! Canada’s Top 50 Most Beautiful Canadians and sold out his first headlining cross-Canadian tour. Brody will release his highly anticipated fourth album this fall.
American Country Music Award winner, and Grammy nominated performer Hunter Hayes is celebrating newfound success in Canada. His new single ‘I Want Crazy’ is the current number one song at country radio across the country and has been certified Platinum. His debut self-titled album crossed over to mainstream audiences earlier this year when his double-Platinum single ‘Wanted’ broke onto the Canadian Hot 100 Chart.
The 2013 CCMA Awards Broadcast will be celebrated live from Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, and will air on Sunday, September 8 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC-TV, with encore airings on CMT (Canada) starting at 10 pm ET.
