CBC ANNOUNCES FULL BROADCAST TEAM FOR 2013 CALGARY STAMPEDE, PRESENTED BY GMC

CBC’s coverage of the 2013 CALGARY STAMPEDE, presented by GMC officially gets underway on Friday with the annual Calgary Stampede Paradelive at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT) on CBC-TV in Southern Alberta, Calgary and Lethbridge and online at CBCSports.ca. Following the parade, the Stampede gets into full swing and CBC has Canadians covered with comprehensive coverage across CBC-TV, CBCSports.ca and bold throughout the entire 10-day event featuring insight and analysis from CBC’s team of experts.

CBC’s Scott Oake (@ScottOake) hosts daily coverage from Calgary as well as nightly chuckwagon races and is joined by four-time Calgary Stampede champion Tom Glass and chuckwagon expert Billy Melville (@billymelville) as analysts with CBC’s Kristina Barnes (@CBCKristina) reporting. Rodeo events feature CBC’s Mark Lee (@MLeeCBC) delivering play-by-play alongside Canadian Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee Cody Snyder (@SnyderCody) and Olympian and former barrel racer Mellisa Hollingsworth (@Mehollingsworth) providing analysis, as well as guest commentator and legendary rodeo announcer Bob Tallman. Veteran rodeo commentator and former saddle bronc rider Butch Knowles joins the rodeo broadcast team for the final for added insight.

As announced earlier this week, Ron MacLean hosts CBC’s live Stampede coverage on Saturday, July 6 at 10 p.m. ET featuring the Rangeland Derby and rodeo wrap-up as well as the Calgary Stampede Championship on Sunday, July 14 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT). CBC News Network’s Heather Hiscox (@cbchh) joins co-hosts Amber Marshall (@amber_marshall) of CBC’s Heartland and CBC Calgary’s Doug Dirks (@cbcDougDirks) for coverage of the parade on Friday.
