Set in Toronto during the turn of the century, home-spun series MURDOCH MYSTERIES stars Yannick Bisson as William Murdoch, a handsome young detective using radical forensic techniques for the time, to solve some of the city’s most gruesome murders. Helping him crack the case is Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris), pathologist Dr. Emily Grace (Georgina Reilly) and pathologist-turned-psychiatrist Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy).

Season Six begins at the dawn of the 20th century, and finds Detective Murdoch amidst some of his toughest cases yet, as he experiences mechanical airplane flight firsthand while uncovering a high-level conspiracy; works to clear the name of a young Winston Churchill (Thomas Howes; Downton Abbey); a dangerous madman threatens to unleash a deadly toxic gas attack; and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle makes an appearance when his supposedly fictional creation, Detective Sherlock Holmes, becomes entangled in a violent robbery. Murdoch also gains new perspectives as he visits a community of naturists and encounters a ghostly presence in Queen’s Park.

In his personal life, Murdoch must address new complications, as he and Julia, having finally expressed their love for each other, realize they have new obstacles to overcome in order to be together. Meanwhile, Crabtree’s burgeoning success bolsters his confidence and his romantic pursuit of Dr. Grace.

Watch MURDOCH MYSTERIES, Season 6 Mondays at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) beginning Monday, January 7.
