Ontario Votes 2011

CBC News brings Ontario election night coverage where and how you want it. Live coverage on CBC News Network, CBC Radio One, CBCNews.ca/ontariovotes and the CBC News App, with interactive results map tracking developments as they happen.

Ontarians go to the polls this Thursday, Oct. 6, in what is expected to be a hard fought, down-to-the-wire provincial election race. CBC News offers the most comprehensive coverage available, across the widest variety of platforms—on CBC News Network, CBC Radio One,CBCNews.ca/ontariovotes and the CBC News App.

Coverage begins at 9 p.m. as soon as the polls close.  Anne-Marie Mediwake anchors the broadcast on all platforms with live and immediate results from the CBC News election team—Dwight Drummond, Adrian Harewood and Susan Pedler, as well as CBC Radio One’s Robert Fisher, who will provide analysis as the votes come in.

People on the move can stay up-to-the-minute with live streaming of the broadcast and CBC News’  interactive election results map, both available through the CBC News iPad App as well as online at CBCNews.ca/ontariovotes.  People can also watch a live stream of the broadcast and jointhe discussion at Facebook.com/cbcnews.  Real-time results, updates and social media posts from reporters in the field will supplement the digital coverage.

On CBC Television, NHL hockey fans can stay updated throughout the night. CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada will provide election updates following the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadiens game. A further update will come during the first intermission of the late game between the Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins.

CBC News has once again partnered with Student Vote,  a non-profit, non-partisan organization that engages young Canadians in the democratic process. On election day, Student Vote will run a parallel election in schools across Ontario, and on election night, CBC News will reveal who young Ontarians would select as their next premier.

Across the province, wherever you live, CBC News will be there, with reporters at all of the leadership headquarters and in ridings throughout Ontario, gathering the full pulse of what promises to be a rollercoaster of an election night.
