In The Kitchen With Stefano Faita joins all-star CBC daytime lineup beginning September 19, 2011

Celebrity cook joins popular daytime schedule alongside viewer-favourite series STEVEN & CHRIS and BEST RECIPES EVER.

The top-rated lifestyle program in Canada, STEVEN & CHRIS, and BEST RECIPES EVER, the country’s most-watched daily food program, are being joined in CBC’s popular Monday to Friday daytime lineup by a dynamic new food personality - Stefano Faita—whose cooking shows and cookbooks are already smash hits in his native Quebec.

IN THE KITCHEN WITH STEFANO FAITA, shot in front of a live studio audience, debuts September 19 at 3:30 p.m., immediately following BEST RECIPES EVER (3 p.m.).Stefano’s show closes out two power-packed hours of daily lifestyle programming, starting with STEVEN & CHRIS at 2 p.m.

Stefano is sure to charm viewers from coast-to-coast with his dynamic personality, his beautiful, rustic kitchen and his informal, yet instructional, cooking style. A family guy first and foremost, the trilingual food expert will share generations of cooking secrets and traditions, while providing entertaining family anecdotes along the way.

“I’m so inspired by my family’s traditions and rich food history,” said Stefano Faita. “I want to encourage others to experiment with food and recipes that create a warm, inviting atmosphere for families, foodies and cooks of all levels.”

Every episode of IN THE KITCHEN WITH STEFANO FAITA includes two or more simple recipes that fit into a specific theme of the day. Stefano, who also owns a popular cooking school in Montreal, gives people the low-down on how to make the most out of specific ingredients, demonstrates easy cooking techniques, highlights a variety of time-saving kitchen gadgets and offers answers to common cooking questions. Stefano loves to share good food made from fresh ingredients with family and friends, but most of all he wants to encourage Canadians to get into the kitchen and cook!

Canada’s most-loved daytime hosts, Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman, return to CBC Television this Fall for the fifth season of Canada’s most popular lifestyle series, STEVEN AND CHRIS. Beginning Monday, September 19 at 2 p.m., the boys are back with more tips, tricks and laughter. Whether they’re answering viewer’s décor questions or bringing Canadians the latest fashion trends, it’s an hour of fun you don’t want to miss.

Also returning September 19 is CBC’s hit cooking series - BEST RECIPES EVER. Fresh off its highly-successful second season, host Kary Osmond returns to show viewers across the country how to prepare the best of the best Canadian Living recipes, one “Tested-Till-Perfect” dish at a time. Featuring 130 all-new episodes, the third season of BEST RECIPES EVER will share even more time- and money-saving tips, as well as more delicious recipes that make everyday life easier.
