The Final of the2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™on CBChasset a new record for aFIFA World Cup™televisionaudience in Canada.Spain’s victory over the Netherlands attracted an average audience of5.131 millionto CBC while an average audience of685,000tuned in to Radio-Canada Télévision, bringing the total television audience to5.816 million,105%higher than the combined audience to the English and French live broadcasts of the Final in 2006.Audiences on CBC Television peaked at7.664millionat 4:56 p.m. ET. CBCSports.ca had231,649total live streams of the match, and the prime-time encore of the Final on CBC drew an average audience of426,000.Sunday’sFIFA World Cup™ Post-Game Showhad an average audience of1.993 million.

On Saturday, the 3rdPlace match between Uruguay and Germany attracted an average audience of1.894 million viewers,219%higher than the live broadcast of the 3rdPlace match in 2006.

Between June 11 and July 11, more than28 million Canadians watched2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™programming on CBC and Radio-Canada.
