882,000 tune-in to Spain/Germany on TV; game draws more than 350,000 live streams

On Wednesday, Spain’s victory over Germany attracted an average audience of882,000(A25-54) to CBC Television and a remarkable353,957total live streaming views online, the highest of the tournament to date. Peak concurrent streams to the game were159,000, larger than the highest reported concurrent stream to 2010 Olympic Games. Earlier in the week, the opening Semi-Final game between Uruguay and the Netherlands attracted an average audience of750,000(A25-54) viewers to CBC Television, while online the game had an impressive268,423total live streams. To date, games on CBCSports.ca/fifaworldcuphave attracted more than7.5 milliontotal live streams.
