KICK-OFF SUMMER FESTIVAL SEASON WITH CBC MUSIC FESTIVAL AT TD ECHO BEACH ON MAY 28

Showcasing some of Canada’s most talented acts, including Hey Rosetta!, The New Pornographers, Alvvays, Tokyo Police Club, Whitehorse, Tanya Tagaq, Maestro, Zaki Ibrahim, The Franklin Electric, Ria Mae, Charlotte Cardin, Julian Taylor, Megan Bonnell, John River, the 2016 CBC Music Searchlight winner, and Rich Terfry
 
The CBC Music Festival is just around the corner, taking place on Saturday, May 28 at TD Echo Beach. Starting today, concert-goers can update or download the CBC Music Festival app available for Apple or Android devices, which highlights everything attendees need to know, including set times, vendors and activities.

Ticket holders arriving before 2 p.m. will have the chance to upgrade their CBC Music Festival experience by entering to win access to the CBC Toronto lounge. This exclusive lounge offers a great view of the main stage, comfortable seating and CBC Toronto prize packs. CBC Radio One Metro Morning host Matt Galloway and CBC Toronto News host Dwight Drummond are also slated to stop by.

The Kids’ CBC Zone has more to offer than ever before, hosted by fan-favourites Patty, Mamma Yamma and special guests The Moblees. This year, there will also be an incredible lineup of musical guests from the main stage, including Tokyo Police Club and Maestro as well as an exclusive dance party with the newest member of the Kids’ CBC family. Families can look forward to crafts and activities, including a rock ‘n’ roll tattoo parlour and hair salon, a massive sandbox, rainbow-ribbon dancers, a musical instrument discovery table, and much more.

CBC will have a variety of activations onsite including the CBC Music Jam or Not a Jam Van, the CBC Sports Flip-Flop Exchange, the CBC podcast Someone Knows Something mystery game, the CBC Arts Studio, where guests can create their very own complimentary silkscreen masterpiece, and Seneca’s Art, Animation and Design tent. The Food Truck Fair will be showcasing some of Toronto’s most delicious eats, and flea market lovers are in for a treat, as vendors from The Junction Flea will be onsite.

The festival will be broadcast live on May 28 from 8-10 p.m. on CBC Radio One and rebroadcast between 10 p.m. and midnight on CBC Radio 2. CBCMusic.ca will also be live-streaming the festival via cbcmusic.ca/festival. On July 1, CBC Television will air highlights from the festival beginning at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT).

Tickets are on sale now at livenation.com, ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-985-5000. General admission tickets will be available for $39.50 (plus FMF and service charges), free for kids 12 and under.
