CBC MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL ARTISTS AND ONSITE ENTERTAINMENT TO KICK OFF THE SUMMER FESTIVAL SEASON

Daniela Andrade, The Beaches, Jon Bryant and Birds of Bellwoods join a lineup of some of Canada’s most talented musical artists including Serena Ryder, Walk Off The Earth, Ruth B, Scott Helman and more

CBC Music today announced that Daniela Andrade, The Beaches, Jon Bryant and Birds of Bellwoods will join the slate of talented Canadian musicians set to perform at Toronto’s RBC Echo Beach for the CBC Music Festival on Saturday, May 27. Limited tickets are still available through Live Nation at cbcmusic.ca/festival for $39.50 + fees; admission for children 12 and under is free.

Set times for the CBC Music Festival mainstage were announced earlier this morning on CBC Radio’s q and are available here. Select artists will also perform on the CBC Kids stage, where festival-goers can enjoy fun and interactive musical performances introduced by Cottonball the puppet and the CBC Kids hosts, with further details to be announced next week.

The Food Truck Fair returns this year with even more vendors, as well as an array of exciting onsite activations for attendees to explore in between shows, including: the CBC Music Jam or Not a Jam Van, a free silkscreen tutorial with CBC Arts, and a flea market with vintage items and Canadian jewelry. Adventurous guests can discover the spectacular Toronto skyline view that RBC Echo Beach offers and catch an artist’s set from the shoreline by renting tandem kayaks (Yaks) or canoes for $10 per person for a 20-minute excursion.

Fans will have the opportunity to upgrade their festival experience onsite by cashing in one of 10 CBC Toronto VIP lounge tickets hidden all over Toronto’s RBC Echo Beach. Follow @CBCMusic on Twitter during the festival for clues and updates.

Continuing to connect Canadians to the music they love, the CBC Music Festival performances will be streamed live on CBC Music’s Facebook and YouTube pages as well as at cbcmusic.ca all day long. Following the festival, a one-hour television special will allow attendees to relive their favourite moments, airing on CBC on Saturday, July 1st at 5:00 p.m., with exciting highlights from the live shows, exclusive interviews with the artists and more.
