CBC collects top awards for ALIAS GRACE, ANNE, BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW, KIM’S CONVENIENCE, SCHITT’S CREEK and THE SECRET PATH during broadcast gala
CBC and its production partners were recognized with 57 Canadian Screen Awards from The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television during Canadian Screen Week 2018, the most wins of any year for Canada’s public broadcaster. The Canadian Screen Awards honour excellence in scripted, unscripted, documentary, news, sports and digital programming.
CBC earned 35 awards at galas earlier in the week and took home an additional 11 awards for television and 11 for film during the broadcast gala which aired live on CBC on Sunday, March 11. “I am immensely proud of the work our artists and creators do every day, in an industry that continues to face significant challenges,” said Heather Conway, executive vice-president of English Services, CBC. “There is more content being created globally than ever before, and having Canadian voices telling Canadian stories is arguably even more important now than when CBC was created.
