"We are so thrilled to be celebrating CBC Victoria’s 20th anniversary! It’s amazing to reflect on all the growth and change in this city and on the island over the years, including CBC’s place in this community. It's a privilege to connect every day with the people who live here. The island and coastal B.C. are incredibly unique, and we love to honour that by showcasing our talented artists,” remarks Gregor Craigie, host of On The Island.

The afternoon begins at the CBC Victoria station with a live broadcast of BC Today at 12 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. meet and greet with CBC Radio One hosts Sheryl Mackay, Michelle Eliot, Gregor Craigie and Robyn Burns. The evenings celebration takes place at Alix Goolden Hall with performances by local artists Towers and Trees and Fallbrigade. For those who cannot attend the concert, it will be broadcast live across the Province on CBC Radio One from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

“We’re really looking forward to showcasing Victoria talent in a fun event with our audience,” says Madeline Green, Executive Producer, CBC Victoria. “We can hear great music and reminisce about the early days of CBC Victoria with Gregor Craigie, Robyn Burns, and CBC personalities like Khaliil Akhtar and Bob McDonald.”

CBC Radio One is available on 90.5 FM in Victoria. Tune in the week of the celebration for special programming featuring guests. For more information on CBC in Victoria, visit cbc.ca/ontheisland and cbc.ca/allpointswest.
