JOIN RICK MERCER IN SAYING GOODBYE TO 2020 WITH CBC’S COAST-TO-COAST-TO-COAST NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL

Performances from across the country by Tyler Shaw with Simone Denny, William Prince, Alan Doyle, The Jerry Cans, Brett Kissell, Lights and Felix Cartal, Neon Dreams, Random Recipe and the Maritime Bhangra Group kick off at 11 p.m. on December 31

 

This New Year’s Eve, join CBC and Rick Mercer to (finally) ring in 2021 with a national celebration that Canadians can enjoy from home. CANADA’S NEW YEAR’S EVE - A COUNTDOWN TO 2021 will broadcast on CBC TV and the free CBC Gem streaming service on Thursday, December 31 at 11 p.m. in every timezone.

Hosted by Rick Mercer, the all-Canadian lineup includes performances by multi-platinum recording artist Tyler Shaw joined by Simone Denny; alt-pop duo Neon Dreams from Halifax, NS; folk singer-songwriter William Prince from Winnipeg, MB; Alan Doyle and friends from around Newfoundland and Labrador; folk/rock group The Jerry Cans and special guests from Iqaluit, NU; pop icon Lights and producer Felix Cartal performing together in Vancouver, BC; country star Brett Kissel from Flat Lake, AB; and hip-hop/electro trio Random Recipe from Montreal, QC. CANADA'S NEW YEARS EVE: A COUNTDOWN TO 2021 will also feature dancing from the Maritime Bhangra Group from Halifax, NS; TikTok dancers Notorious Cree from Edmonton, AB; Basement Gang from Toronto, ON; and Mikey Harris from Winnipeg, MB.
