Toronto, Ontario’s Anjali Helferty leaves the tent this week, while Edmonton, Alberta’s Larry Harris is named Star Baker
Toronto, Ontario resident Anjali Helferty received some crumby news during Bread Week, as the 36-year-old became the second baker to leave the tent on Season 4 of THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW. Meanwhile, Edmonton, Alberta’s Larry Harris was crowned Star Baker, rising above the rest.
During week two, the bakers were asked to put their own spin on a Tropezienne, a patisserie-style dessert made with a sweet brioche bread, followed by the Technical Bake, which saw the bakers twist into knots as they took on Pretzels. Finally, for this week’s Show Stopper the bakers created a two-tiered Bread Wreath Centrepiece filled with delicious ingredients, perfectly cooked inside and out.
As Anjali leaves the tent, the following bakers remain:
- Dominike Audet, 42, a radio host and novelist from Québec, QC
- Larry Harris, 53, a business operations manager from Edmonton, AB
- Maggie Frith, 42, a stay-at-home mom and former lawyer from Toronto, ON
- Mahathi Mundluru, 24, a business analyst from Markham, ON
- Oyaks Airende, 28, a project scheduler and engineer from Calgary, AB
- Raufikat Oyawoye, 35, an IT support engineer from Milton, ON
- Sheldon Lynn, 25, a software developer from Vancouver, BC
- Tanner Davies, 28, a marketing consultant from Winnipeg, MB
In next week’s episode of THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW, the eight remaining bakers face Cookie Week, airing next Sunday, February 28 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
