Edmonton, Alberta’s Larry Harris exits the tent, while Milton, Ontario’s Raufikat Oyawoye is named Star Baker
Business Operations Manager, Larry Harris, 53, of Edmonton, AB wished he could turn back thyme as he bid farewell to the judges, hosts and the remaining five bakers following Botanical Week on THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW, while Milton, Ontario’s Raufikat Oyawoye showed off her green thumb, earning the title of Star Baker.
During week five, the six remaining bakers faced their first-ever Botanical Week with three challenges that paid homage to all that’s garden-grown. For the Signature bake, they prepared eight artfully presented fruit tarts in flavours of their choice, followed by the Technical Bake, which tasked contestants with making savoury Herb Garden Dumplings. Finally, for the Show Stopper, the bakers were asked to create an elegant two-tiered Floral Cake using botanical-inspired flavours.
As Larry leaves the tent, the following five bakers remain:
- Maggie Frith, 42, a stay-at-home mom and former lawyer from Toronto, ON
- Mahathi Mundluru, 24, a business analyst from Markham, ON
- Raufikat Oyawoye, 35, an IT support engineer from Milton, ON
- Sheldon Lynn, 25, a software developer from Vancouver, BC
- Tanner Davies, 28, a marketing consultant from Winnipeg, MB
