Toronto, Ontario’s Maggie Frith exits the tent, while Milton, Ontario’s Raufikat Oyawoye earns the title of Star Baker for the second time this season
Stay-at-home mom and former lawyer Maggie Frith, 42, bid a final farewell to the tent following Fancy Dessert Week on THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW, while Milton, Ontario’s Raufikat Oyawoye proved once again that she’s the zest earning the Star Baker title for the second time this season.
Only four bakers remained in the competition for Fancy Dessert Week, facing three delicately delicious challenges in an effort to reach the finale. For the Signature Bake, the contestants created 12 Miniature Entremets filled with layers of jelly, mousse and cake. In the Technical Bake, they took on a Passionfruit Chocolate Charlotte Cake and finally for the Show Stopper, the bakers had to impress the judges with a decadent - and crunchy - Meringue Crunch Cake.
As Maggie leaves the tent, the following bakers remain for the season finale:
- Mahathi Mundluru, 24, a business analyst from Markham, ON
- Raufikat Oyawoye, 35, an IT support engineer from Milton, ON
- Tanner Davies, 28, a marketing consultant from Winnipeg, MB
The final three bakers return to the tent for the final showdown to determine who will win THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW in the season finale next Sunday, April 4 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
