Broadcasting as a radio special on CBC Music and CBC Listen, the second annual edition of Canada Listens will feature five panellists debating why their celebrated Canadian album of choice deserves the top spot over four days - April 11 to 14
March 7, 2022 - CBC today announced the return of CANADA LISTENS , the music debate series modelled after the popular, long-running CANADA READS format, broadcasting this April and hosted by CBC Music’s Saroja Coelho. CANADA LISTENS features a panel of celebrity advocates who each champion a Canadian album that they have selected and believe will win the title of the “one album that all Canadians need to hear.” The hour-long radio debates will air daily on CBC Music Mornings and CBC Listen starting Monday, April 11 at 8 a.m. (8:30 NT) repeating at 5 p.m. (5:30 NT) during CBC Music’s Drive show and CBC Listen, with an album being eliminated each day until the winner is revealed on Thursday, April 14. A special two-hour version, highlighting the best of the 2022 CANADA LISTENS debate, will air on CBC Radio One on Monday April 18 at 4 p.m. (4:30 NT).

Last year’s inaugural CANADA LISTENS debate saw Kardinal Offishall's Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1 take the top spot , defended by panellist Kathleen Newman-Bremang.
