CBC today announced broadcast and streaming premiere dates for its fall 2022 slate of new and returning programming, including 26 original series and specials from Canadian creators, producers, and storytellers reflecting people, places and perspectives from across the country. The new fall primetime schedule launches Monday, September 12 on CBC TV and CBC Gem.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
- THE NATIONAL: Starting September 12, new Chief Correspondent Adrienne Arsenault will anchor CBC News’ award-winning flagship program Monday to Thursday, with Ian Hanomansing continuing to host on Friday and Sunday.
- FAMILY FEUD CANADA: Buzzing in on September 12 for an all-new season, host Gerry Dee welcomes families from across Canada, Monday to Thursday.
- Mondays: Beginning September 12, audience favourite MURDOCH MYSTERIES kicks off the Monday night drama lineup, followed by new Arctic thriller THE NORTH WATER. UK period spy drama RIDLEY ROAD debuts on October 24.
- Tuesdays: Beginning September 13, CBC’s hit Tuesday night comedy lineup returns with the 30th anniversary season of THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES, followed by a new season of STRAYS and the premiere of COMEDY NIGHT WITH RICK MERCER, with the Peabody Award-winning series SORT OF joining the lineup on November 15 with back-to-back episodes.
- Wednesdays: Beginning September 14, original documentary series SUMMIT ‘72 commemorates the 1972 Canada-Russia hockey summit upon its 50th anniversary, followed by Season 3 of the international hit drama WAR OF THE WORLDS. The fourth season of DIGGSTOWN continues the fight for justice, returning on October 12.
- Thursdays: Beginning September 15, DRAGONS’ DEN welcomes back returning Dragon Robert Herjavec for its 17th season, with the 48th season of acclaimed investigative series THE FIFTH ESTATE premiering September 29 with new co-host Steven D’Souza.
- Fridays: Beginning September 16, THE PASSIONATE EYE kicks off a new season of international and original Canadian documentaries with Jennifer Baichwal’s powerful INTO THE WEEDS, investigative consumer watchdog MARKETPLACE returns for its landmark 50th anniversary season on October 7 with a one-hour special, and TRAVEL MAN: 48 HOURS IN… touches down on October 14.
- Sundays: Beginning October 2, long-running family drama HEARTLAND returns, followed by new seasons of THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW with hosts Alan Shane Lewis and Ann Pornel, and Allan Hawco joins Jennifer Finnigan and the cast of MOONSHINE for a second season of east coast family drama.
- Weekend afternoons: This fall, CBC SPORTS brings audiences all the action from the world of high-performance sport, with competitions including: Rugby Sevens World Cup (September 9-11), FIG Rhythmic World Championship (September 14-18), and FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship (September 23 - October 15).
- CBC Gem originals this fall include the launch of original comedy FAKES, created by David Turko and presented by CBC Gem and Netflix, receiving its World Premiere on Thursday, September 1, while the curtain opens for variety show LIDO TV, hosted by award-winning Colombian-Canadian musician and artist Lido Pimienta with special guests, on Friday, September 23. Doc series STAY TOONED offers a close look at the social impacts of classic cartoons beginning on Friday, December 2.
- CBC Kids welcomes new original preschool animated series JEREMY AND JAZZY to CBC Gem on Monday, September 5 and to CBC TV beginning Monday, September 12, starring award-winning musicians Jeremy Fisher (as Jeremy) and Aiza Ntibarikure (as Jazzy), plus celebrity musical guests. Season 2 of CBC Kids and Radio-Canada original preschool animated series DINO RANCH, a unique mashup of the Wild West and the Jurassic period, recently debuted and will continue to roll out weekly on Saturdays this summer and fall on CBC TV and CBC Gem.
- CBC Films offers Canadian feature films on Saturday evenings all summer and in the early fall on CBC TV and CBC Gem, with highlights including SLEEPING GIANT (September 3) directed by Andrew Cividino; RED SNOW (September 10) directed by Marie Clements; ANGELIQUE’S ISLE (September 24) directed by Marie-Hélène Cousineau and Michelle Derosier; and SOUL ON ICE: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE (October 1) directed by Damon Kwame Mason. - THE LEGACY AWARDS, The Black Academy’s award show celebrating Black Canadian achievement, will broadcast live on CBC TV and stream on CBC Gem on Sunday, September 25.
- SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE will broadcast live on CBC TV and CBC Radio One and stream on CBC Gem and CBC.ca/books on Monday, November 7.
