NEW MIXED DOUBLES SUPER SERIES DEBUTS THIS FALL, WITH LIVE STREAMING COVERAGE PROVIDED BY CBC SPORTS

Mixed Doubles Super Series includes five events over five weekends, with the first kicking off September 29 in Ottawa

The all-new Mixed Doubles Super Series, the next evolution in the sport of curling, will be unfolding at locations across the country this fall, and CBC Sports will bring Canadians all of the action from the fast-paced sport across its streaming platforms. Kicking off in Ottawa from September 29 - October 2, 2022, the Mixed Double Super Series will bring together some of Canada’s top curlers for five events over five weekends. The full schedule is below. CBC Sports will provide live streaming coverage of the events across its platforms, including CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, with up-to-the-minute news across CBC Sports digital and social media platforms. Further information regarding CBC Sports’ coverage will be available this fall.

“Since running our first event together back in 2005 both Wayne Tuck Jr. and myself couldn’t be happier about partnering with CBC in this next iteration of curling,” said Jay Allen, Managing Partner, Epsilon Productions. “Mixed doubles is quickly growing in popularity amongst the sports’ top athletes and our aim is to make this “Super Series” a must stop on tour. We look forward to growing this discipline in the next quadrennial towards the Milan Olympics and helping our Canadian athletes prepare to own the podium.”

“Canada has a vast and passionate fanbase for curling, and CBC Sports will proudly bring them all of the excitement of the new Super Series, featuring some of the country’s best curlers,” said Chris Wilson, Executive Director, Sports and Olympics, CBC. “With Milano Cortina 2026 just around the corner, CBC Sports, as Canada’s Olympic Network, will continue to share the journey of the country’s top athletes with audiences across the country.”

The Mixed Doubles Super Series will consist of five events over five weekends, with nine draws per event. The first four events will be preliminary competitions, consisting of 32 teams from around the world competing in pool play. The final event will be the Super Series Championship, complete with a 24-team triple-knockout format. The schedule is as follows:

  • Ottawa, Ontario - September 29 - October 2
  • Saskatoon, Saskatchewan - November 3 - 6
  • Leduc, Alberta - November 17 - 20
  • Winnipeg, Manitoba - December 1 - 4
  • Brantford, Ontario (Super Series Championship) - December 16 - 18

Epsilon productions was created by Wayne Tuck Jr. and Jay Allen to design, produce, manage and promote a top tier “Super Series” for Canadian Mixed Doubles athletes to help sharpen their skills against some of the best the world has to offer.  With more than fifteen years experience running events, including The Sun Life Curling Classic (2007-2013), Masters Grand Slam (2014), Ontario Men’s provincial Championships (2016), and turning attention to mixed doubles discipline in 2018, Tuck Jr. and Allen have run several preliminary events for Curling Canada, providing mixed doubles events for Canada’s pre-trial qualification in the last two Olympic cycles. Epsilon Productions created the Mixed Doubles Super Series to help Canadian athletes own the podium in Milan Italy and beyond.
