CBC/Radio-Canada’s holiday campaigns raised millions of dollars for local food banks and charities

Every year, CBC/Radio-Canada staff work with local food banks and charities to help make the season kind.

Throughout December, CBC/Radio-Canada partnered with local food banks and charities from coast to coast to coast to raise millions of dollars for people in need.

As part of CBC’s Make the Season Kind campaign, 24 regional CBC stations across the country ran charity drives throughout the month of December, including 37 community events, raising $7.8 million for local food banks. Radio-Canada also organized fundraising events, such as Le Noël du coeur in Trois-Rivières, contributing an additional $952,000 to local charities. (Photo available here, Credit: Courtesy of Radio-Canada).

And in Quebec, Radio-Canada was a major partner in the Media Food Drive, which raised $5.1 million. This initiative, which included media outlets from across the province, helped thousands of people in need in every corner of Quebec.

These annual holiday fundraising efforts are part of CBC/Radio-Canada’s ongoing engagement in communities across the country.
