CBC/Radio-Canada today announced the appointment of Douglas Smith as Executive Vice-President of CBC, effective February 2, 2026.
Doug Smith is a visionary — a high-impact Canadian media leader with over 30 years of experience. He has an extensive track record in the media sector with a deep understanding of the Canadian ecosystem and Canadian audiences.
Smith recently worked at Paramount as the Senior Vice-President of Streaming & Content Licensing/Regional Lead where he was instrumental in orchestrating the Canadian launches of Paramount+ and Pluto TV. Doug brings a unique combination of experience and perspectives that will add value to CBC/Radio-Canada and will enable us to achieve those goals.”
— Marie-Philippe Bouchard, President and CEO, CBC/Radio-Canada
