Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) today announced that CBC/Radio-Canada will be the broadcast and streaming home in Canada for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, August 2 in Glasgow, Scotland. "CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to following the journeys of Canada’s high performance athletes year round and with more than 148 athletes representing our country in nine sports, the Commonwealth Games is a great example of that,” said Chris Wilson, Executive Director, Sports and Olympics, CBC. “Building on the momentum at Paris 2024 and looking ahead to LA 2028, we’re excited to provide this extensive coverage across all of our platforms to audiences from coast to coast to coast.”

“For many Canadian athletes, the Commonwealth Games represent their first time on the international stage and the next important step on their journey  to the Olympic orParalympic Games,” said Sophie Morasse, General Manager, Entertainment, Sports and TOU.TV, Radio-Canada. “Offering live coverage of these  Games on our platforms, including ICI TOU.TV is part of our commitment to providing more ways to follow these athletes and cheer them on as they continue to reach new heights.”

“We are thrilled that Canadians will have extensive opportunities to follow and celebrate Team Canada throughout the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, thanks to the outstanding partnership and coverage provided by CBC/Radio-Canada,” says Kelly Laframboise, Director, Team Canada 2026. “Canada’s national public broadcaster plays a vital role in connecting Canadians with the athletes and stories that inspire our nation. The upcoming 2026 Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 through to August 2, with 74 participating nations and territories taking part. For the Games this summer, Canada will be sending a team of more than 148 athletes competing in nine sports, with the largest number of para-athletes competing ever at 34. The athletes will be supported by 81 officials, including 20 mission staff. As only the third city in history to host the Games twice, for 2026, Glasgow will be delivering a leaner and more sustainable model for major events, leveraging Glasgow’s world-class venues, infrastructure and know-how from hosting in 2014.
