Canadians are tuning into CBC Radio more than ever according to the fall diary results from Numeris (formerly BBM). CBC Radio One’s strong fall ratings are reflected in another record-high share of 14.7% (up from 14.2% last fall). This is the largest Radio One share to date. The combined CBC Radio One and CBC Radio 2 share is the highest fall share ever at 18.1%.

Data from Sept. 7 - Nov. 1, 2015 indicates that CBC Radio One ranked #1 overall in ten markets, including: Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Fredericton, Ottawa (Anglo), Winnipeg, Victoria, Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George. CBC local radio stations ranked in the top three for overall ratings in 19 out of 21 diary markets.
CBC Radio One morning shows again had very strong ratings results, with 13 local morning shows ranked #1 overall, and all 21 morning shows were ranked in the top three.
Fall CBC Radio One Highlights include:
CBC Radio One posted increases among listeners 35+, capturing record shares for A35-49, 50-64, and 65+.
CBC Radio One Winnipeg took the #1 position for its morning show, Information Radio with host Marcy Markusa, for the very first time. It was #1 across all of CBC Manitoba’s local shows, and its overall market share of 15.3% is a record-high.
CBC Radio One Sydney ranks #1 overall in its market for the first time ever, while Fredericton returned to #1 (it was last #1 in Fall 2009)
Charlottetown, Halifax, Ottawa (Anglo) and Kamloops were also ranked number one in their markets and captured record high shares.
On Saturday mornings, CBC Radio One stations ranked in the top 2 in 21 out of 21 diary markets surveyed, with #1 rankings in Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton, Ottawa (Anglo), Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Kitchener-Waterloo, Winnipeg, Regina, Victoria, Kelowna, Prince George.
On Sunday mornings, CBC Radio One stations ranked in the top 3 in 21 out of 21 markets, with #1 rankings in St. John’s, Charlottetown, Halifax, Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton, Ottawa (Anglo), Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Kitchener-Waterloo, Winnipeg, Regina, Victoria, Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George.
CBC Radio One alone reached 4.3 million listeners while CBC Radio 2 reached almost 1.5 million listeners.
