CBC REVEALS SEVENTH ROUND OF PARTICIPANTS COMPETING ON CANADA'S SMARTEST PERSON

Last week, CFL player Marco Iannuzzi of the B.C. Lions secured his place in the season finale

This week, celebrity judges include singer Jully Black and sports anchor Dan O’Toole

CBC’s competition series, CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON unveils its seventh and last round of participants before the exciting two-hour season finale, including a high school teacher, a matchmaker, a tax collector and an insurance broker who will go head-to-head on Sunday, November 15 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) for the chance to take home the ultimate intelligence title. In last week’s episode, CFL player Marco Iannuzzi of the B.C. Lions earned a place in the season finale, and will have the chance to be crowned “Canada’s Smartest Person.”

 

In the seventh episode of the season, high school teacher Jason Vander-Hoek of Langley, BC, part-time matchmaker Alexandra Pascuzzi of Vancouver, BC, tax collector Anish Ahuja of Ottawa, ON and insurance broker Julie Francis of Halifax, NS will go head-to-head, competing for the final spot in the season finale. The participants were chosen after undergoing a rigorous application process including a series of tests to prove they have what it takes to compete for the title of “Canada’s Smartest Person.” Appearing as judges in this episode are singer Jully Black and sports anchor Dan O’Toole.

 

This week’s logical challenge “Portfolio Pro” is brought to you by Questrade. Participants will put their math abilities to the test as they mentally calculate equations related to stock trading including dividend payouts, profit earnings and percentage gains. Hosted by Jessi Cruickshank, CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON is an innovative, original competition series based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Each week, four participants compete in a series of challenges in six areas of intelligence (linguistic, logical, visual, physical, musical and social) that redefines smart. This season features even more action-packed competition marked by bigger, bolder, mind-bending challenges that push participants to their limits. It also includes an all-star line-up of celebrity judges.

 

Each week, viewers can play along in real-time with the ground-breaking CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON app, available foriOS and Android devices. The app syncs to every broadcast allowing viewers to participate with each challenge in the show in real time. During the week, viewers can try their hand at a series of bonus challenges and new this season, is Head2Head, which allows players to dual against their family and friends.

CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON airs Sundays at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC-TV.
