WILD CARDS is a blue sky procedural with a comedic twist that follows the unlikely duo of Max (Vanessa Morgan), a spirited, clever con woman, and Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti), a by-the-book, sardonic cop.
Season 3 picks up one month after last season’s finale, with Max (Morgan) now working as an official police consultant. Her world is immediately upended by two arrivals: First, Ellis (Gianniotti) returns to the force, cleared of all charges and ready to be her partner again. Second, the woman at Max’s door is revealed to be her long-lost mother, Vivienne (Tamara Taylor) — who Max believed was dead. Vivienne’s shocking return ignites the dangerous, high-stakes events of season three and further upends Max’s already complicated relationship with Ellis. Over the course of the season, Max must navigate her complicated relationship with Vivienne while simultaneously growing closer to Ellis.
WILD CARDS is written by Michael Konyves (who also created the series and serves as Showrunner), James Thorpe, Alexandra Zarowny, Marcus Robinson, K. Slaney, Veronika Paz and Jackson Chow. Season 3 will be directed by Andy Mikita, Amanda Tapping, Alexandra La Roche, James Genn, Bosede Williams, and Shawn Piller.
Executive producers are Konyves, Piller, Lloyd Segan, Thorpe, Zarowny, Genn and Robinson. The series is produced by Charles Cooper, Virginia Rankin and Tashi Bieler, and on behalf of Blink49 Studios, overseen by Executive Vice President of Global Scripted Carolyn Newman and Vice President of Scripted Television Lindsay Tolbert.
