NEARLY 9 MILLION CANADIANS WATCHED THE TORONTO 2015 PARAPAN AM GAMES ON CBC/RADIO-CANADA

Twenty-five per cent of the population tuned in to at least some part of CBC/Radio-Canada’s coverage of the Games from August 7-15
 
Following eight days of intense competition the TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games officially came to an end on Saturday night with the Closing Ceremony. Headlined by Grammy award-winning artist Wyclef Jean, Saturday’s celebration was watched by a total of nearly 2 million viewers on CBC-TV or broadcast partner City. Overall, almost 9 million Canadians tuned in to at least some Parapan Am Games coverage on CBC/Radio-Canada or its partners from August 7-15.
 
The athletes also took notice of CBC/Radio-Canada’s coverage of the Parapan Am Games, including Canadian swimmer and five-time medallist at TORONTO 2015, Benoît Huot. During a live interview with CBC’s Scott Russell on Friday night, Huot shared the following reaction:
 
“On behalf of all the athletes I want to thank you, Scott, for your passion for the sport, for this past week here at the Parapan Am Games, and everyone at CBC and you guys back home too in Canada. We felt your energy and all the support and we want to thank you.”
 

 

 
Over the course of the Parapan Am Games, CBC/Radio-Canada, the official broadcaster in Canada, and its broadcast partners provided more coverage to Canadians than ever before including more than 250 hours through an extensive multi-platform approach. This year’s event marked the first time the Parapan Am Games were televised in English and French in Canada. The TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games were the largest Parapan Am Games ever held, with more than 1,600 athletes from 28 countries participating in more than 300 medal events.

CEBL and CBC Sports release 2026 Season Broadcast and Streaming Schedule
