Holiday programming across all CBC platforms will keep Canadians in the festive spirit all season long
Canadians are invited to laugh, cry, sing and shout along with CBC this December with a month full of festive favourites and new holiday-themed episodes of popular CBC programs. CBC-TV, Radio One, Radio 2, CBCMusic.ca and CBC.ca will spread the holiday spirit all month long with a variety of programming that will help Canadians holiday like they mean it.

Celebrate the holiday season with this unforgettable and heartfelt performance from the Grammy® award-winning superstar, along with special guest Ariana Grande, and more!•CBC Music: 12 Songs of Christmas - Wed, Dec. 24th at 7 p.m./7:30 p.m. NTCelebrate the holidays with some of Canada’s best musicians as they perform their favourite Christmas songs, featuring Blue Rodeo, Walk Off The Earth, Nikki Yanofsky, Moist, Brett Kissel, Barenaked Ladies, and more!• Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration - Thu, Dec. 25th at 10 a.m./10:30 a.m. NTMusic, magic and merriment come together when Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida present the 31st annual Christmas Day parade and TV special. The star-studded sounds of the season include some of today’s top musical talents lending their voices to celebrate the holidays. And, from fairy tales to classic Christmas carols, Disney friends and holiday characters spread joy and good tidings through Disneyland Park in California and the Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. This year promises some extra Frozen fun with fanciful floats and colourful cavalcades as Santa Claus himself along with his reindeer, wind their holly jolly way down Main Street, USA.
Kids’ CBC will be in the holiday spirit in December with special holiday-themed programming including special episodes of Super WHY! and You & Me. On Wed, Dec. 24th the schedule will be filled with festive programming from 6:30-11 a.m./7-11:30 a.m. NT for Kids’ CBC Holiday Morning. In addition, new series The Moblees will premiere on Mon, Dec. 22nd at 8 a.m./8:30 a.m. NT. Each episode will be a movement-centric, song-driven adventure, encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle through imaginative journeys and transformative experiences set to a soundtrack of original world music. The Moblees will continue weekdays at 8 a.m./8:30 a.m. NT as part of the Kids’ CBC schedule.
CBCMusic.ca will celebrate the holidays with two continuous limited-play streams: Seasonal Favourites and Classical Holidays, from Nov. 24th at 12 p.m. (12:30 p.m. NT) to Dec. 29th. Seasonal Favourites will include everything from vintage tunes by Bing Crosby to contemporary classics from performers like Michael Bublé and many more. Classical Holidays is the perfect holiday mix for classical fans, including concertos, carols, and hits from the choral, vocal, and instrumental repertoire, including Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. On Sun, Dec. 21st, CBC Radio 2 will broadcast Joy to the World, a full day of holiday music programming from the countries of the European Broadcasting Union, hosted by Ben Heppner. CBC Radio 2’s holiday programming will start at 5 p.m. (5:30 p.m. NT) with the hour-long special, CBC Music: The Songs of Christmas. Hosted by Rich Terfry, the program features exclusive performances of holiday songs from Blue Rodeo, Walk Off The Earth, Nikki Yanofsky, Moist, Brett Kissel, Barenaked Ladies and many more. CBC Radio One kicks off the holidays on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) with festive music running until midnight (12:30 a.m. NT) on Dec. 25th. In addition, Radio One’s As it Happens will broadcast its annual reading by Al Maitland of Frederick Forsyth’s short story, The Shepherd, on Christmas Eve at 6:30 p.m. (7 p.m. NT). Laugh into the new year with CBC-TV’s comedy lineup on Wed, Dec. 31st beginning at 7 p.m. (7:30 p.m. NT) with an encore presentation of the 22 Minutes retrospective, This Hour Has 22 Years, followed by Air Farce: New Year’s Eve 2014/2015 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT), From Fallsview Casino: Ron James “The Big Picture” at 9 p.m. (9:30 p.m. NT) and22 Minutes ‘Til Midnight at 11:30 p.m. (12 a.m. NT).
