GLORIA MACARENKO TO HOST CBC RADIO ONE'S B.C. ALMANAC STARTING JANUARY 5TH

 

 

 

 

CBC today announced CBC Vancouver’s Gloria Macarenko will host B.C. Almanac starting January 5, 2015 taking the place of Mark Forsythe who recently announced his retirement from the CBC.

Macarenko will continue to hostOur Vancouver, a current affairs television show on CBC Television andThe Story from Here, a national Radio One show that brings Canadians the most lively and intriguing interviews from across the country.

“We are so pleased to have Gloria lead one of our local radio shows,” says Johnny Michel, senior managing director, BC and Alberta. “Storytelling is her passion and she excels at it. B.C. Almanac is the perfect place for her to engage with British Columbians everyday.”

Macarenko is no stranger to CBC fans on both radio and television. She was most recently host of CBC News Vancouver at 5 & 6 and has been a guest host on CBC Radio One’sOn The Coastin Vancouver as well as The National and CBC News Now.

In her many years with CBC, Macarenko has been awarded a Jack Webster Award for “Best News Reporting”, multiple RTNDA Awards and a Leo award for “Best Anchor in a News Program”.
