CBC'S COVERAGE OF THE 2014 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS CONTINUES WITH THE SECOND ROUND, BEGINNING TODAY

Second Round coverage on CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA includes Boston vs. Montreal and Pittsburgh vs. New York Rangers
 
The Studio 42 Crew welcomes Adam Oates as a guest analyst during the Second Round
 
The quest for the Stanley Cup continues today on CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA as the Second Round begins with Game 1 of the Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens series at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT). CBC will also have coverage of the Pittsburgh vs. New York Rangers series beginning Friday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT). Every game broadcast on CBC-TV is also available live online at CBCSports.ca and through the CBC Hockey app for iOS and Xbox.
 
The Original Six match-up between the long-time rival Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens features two of the NHL’s top goaltenders in Boston’s Tuukka Rask, who currently leads all playoff goalies in save percentage and goals against average, and Montreal’s Carey Price who has yet to lose in the playoffs this year and backstopped Canada to Olympic gold in Sochi. CBC’s Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson (@hnicsimmer) will call the action in this series from the broadcast booth, Glenn Healy will provide further analysis from his position between the benches and Scott Oake (@ScottOake) will keep viewers up-to-date with rink-side reports. This series will also be the featured Second Round match-up for CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi presented by Chevrolet, available on select digital channels and online at CBCSports.ca/punjabi.
 
CBC’s other Second Round match-up features Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers. Pittsburgh won a hard-fought First Round series against the surprising Columbus Blue Jackets while the Rangers battled back to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers in a thrilling seven-game series to reach the Second Round. CBC’s Bob Cole will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Garry Galley in the broadcast booth and Greg Millen (@GregMillen) at ice level. David Amber (@DavidAmber) will handle reporting duties for the first two games of the series while Cassie Campbell-Pascall (@CassieCampbell) will take over for the remaining games.
 
CBC’s Kelly Hrudey (@KellyHrudey) will join Ron MacLean, P.J. Stock (@PJStockHNIC), Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) and Andi Petrillo (@andipHNIC) as part of the Studio 42 Crew for the Second Round. Don Cherry (@CoachsCornerCBC) and Coach’s Corner brought to you by Budweiser will continue to make regular appearances throughout the Second Round, including each game of the Boston/Montreal series. In addition to Hrudey, CBC will welcome Hockey Hall of Fame member Adam Oates for select games during coverage of the Second Round. Known as one of hockey’s greatest playmakers, Oates ranks sixth all-time with 1,079 career regular-season assists and ranks 17th all-time with 1,420 career regular-season points. Following his playing career, Oates served as an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils and was most recently the head coach of the Washington Capitals.
 
The top players from every game throughout the playoffs on CBC will be featured in the 3 Stars presented by Hotels.com following the conclusion of each game. Also following each game on CBC is the Chevrolet Post-Game Show hosted live online at CBCSports.ca by Andi Petrillo.

This online feature allows viewers to follow a single isolated camera on their computers or mobile devices. Fans are asked to vote online at CBCSports.ca/breakaway throughout the week leading up to select games to help decide which player will be the focus of the Breakaway Cam for each applicable game.
 
Hockey Night in Canada Radio on SiriusXM with host Rob Pizzo (@RobPizzo) continues in the Second Round and throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs from 3-5 p.m. ET every weekday on Sirius 207 and XM 211. Pizzo welcomes the biggest names in the game for in-depth discussion and insightful interviews on the latest storylines from the playoffs.
