NAZEM KADRI JOINS CBC'S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA STUDIO 42 CREW AS A GUEST ANALYST DURING SATURDAY NIGHT'S STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF COVERAGE

CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA will welcome Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri to the broadcast team as a guest analyst for this Saturday’s Columbus/Pittsburgh game. Kadri will appear on Hockey Tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) and during the second intermission of Saturday night’s Game 2 of the Blue Jackets/Penguins series on CBC.
 
Kadri (@43_Kadri) will join Ron MacLean and the Studio 42 Crew of P.J. Stock (@PJStockHNIC), Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) and Andi Petrillo (@andipHNIC) in studio. Kadri will be at the desk to provide added analysis and his own perspective on the night’s action.
 
“I can’t wait to be part of the broadcast team for the legendary Hockey Night in Canada this weekend,” said Kadri. “Like millions of Canadians, I grew up watching this show every Saturday night and as a player in the NHL it’s always special playing on Hockey Night in Canada, but to actually be part of the studio show is a whole new thrill and a challenge I’m really looking forward to.”
 
A London, ON native, Kadri was the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first-round pick (seventh overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He recently completed his second full season with the club in which he scored tallied a career-high 50 points (20 goals and 30 assists) in 78 games, making him the third-highest scorer on the team. Kadri is of Lebanese descent and is the first Muslim player drafted by the Maple Leafs and takes great pride in his cultural heritage.Outside of hockey, Kadri has been involved with several causes including The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). In addition, his first golf tournament raised more than $100,000 for St. Joseph’s Health Care, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and The Muslim Resource Centre.
 
Kadri’s appearance on CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADAcomes during the second half of Saturday’s Stanley Cup Playoff doubleheader that begins at 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. PT) with Game 2 of the Chicago Blackhawks/St. Louis Blues series in St. Louis. Every game broadcast on CBC is also available live online at CBCSports.ca.
