IT'S MORE THAN A GAME. IT'S THE CUP! CBC'S 2014 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF COVERAGE BEGINS WEDNESDAY

CBC’s First Round coverage includes Tampa Bay vs. Montreal, Pittsburgh vs. Columbus, St. Louis vs. Chicago and San Jose vs. Los Angeles
 
The road to the Stanley Cup begins this Wednesday and CBC’s HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA is putting Canadians in the best seat in the house for the biggest match-ups and star players from the First Round through the Stanley Cup Final. The journey to hockey’s biggest prize begins Wednesday on CBC with two games featuring Montreal @ Tampa Bay at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) on CBC-TV and Columbus @ Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT) on CHEX. Fans can also watch every CBC broadcast of the Stanley Cup Playoffs live online at CBCSports.ca and through the CBC Hockey app for iOS and Xbox.
 
Ron MacLean and the Hockey Night in Canada Studio 42 Crew featuring P.J. Stock (@PJStockHNIC), Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC), Glenn Healy and Andi Petrillo (@andipHNIC) at the Chevrolet I-Desk, will have viewers covered throughout the playoffs with news, analysis and features every night. The Studio 42 Crew will be joined by special guests over the course of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA. Don Cherry (@CoachsCornerCBC) will make his 2014 playoff debut with Coach’s Corner brought to you by Budweiser during the first intermission of Wednesday’s Montreal vs. Tampa Bay game. The top players from Wednesday’s games, and every game throughout the playoffs on CBC, will be featured in the 3 Stars presented by Hotels.com following the conclusion of each game. Petrillo will host the Chevrolet Post-Game Show live online at CBCSports.ca with final thoughts on the night’s action.
 
Coverage on Wednesday will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) with Hockey Tonight hosted by MacLean along with the Studio 42 Crew. Wednesday’s games include star goalie Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens visiting Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning in an Atlantic Division battle, followed by Sergei Bobrovsky and the Columbus Blue Jackets taking on Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Coverage of the First Round on CBC will continue Thursday when T.J. Oshie and the St. Louis Blues play host to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks at 8 p.m. ET (5p.m. PT) in a Central Division showdown, as well as the Jonathan Quick-led Los Angeles Kings look for a good start on the road against Joe Thornton and the in-state rival San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. PT).

Returning for select games throughout the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs on CBC is the Breakaway Cam presented by Lexus. This online feature allows viewers to follow a single isolated camera on their computers or mobile devices. Fans are asked to vote online at CBCSports.ca/breakaway throughout the week leading up to select games to help decide which player will be the focus of the Breakaway Cam for each applicable game.
 
Hockey Night in Canada Radio on SiriusXM with host Rob Pizzo (@RobPizzo) will continue throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Guest hosts from across the hockey world join Pizzo in providing comprehensive analysis from 3-5 p.m. ET every weekday on Sirius 207 and XM 211. Pizzo welcomes the biggest names in the game for in-depth discussion and insightful interviews on the latest storylines from the playoffs.
