CBC NEWS WINS BIG AT THE CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS OPENING NIGHT GALA

CBC received 12 awards tonight at the first of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s Canadian Screen Awards galas. CBC News won big this evening, earning five awards across national and local programming. THE NATIONAL, CBC’s flagship nightly news program anchored by chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge, won two awards for its coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing and the Syrian conflict.
