CBC Radio 3 listeners determine the winners for The Bucky Awards
 
After a thorough voting process, CBC Radio 3 listeners have crowed winners for the nine Bucky Award categories. The awards were handed out today during Radio 3’s traditional gala ceremony by Craig Norris, Lana Gay and Grant Lawrence. The winners for the 2012 Bucky Awards are:

The Bucky Awards began in 2006 and were created by CBC Radio 3 to honour Canadian indie music from all genres. The awards, determined by listener votes, have in the past included such non-traditional categories as “most Canadian tune” and “catchiest hook.” Winners of this year’s awards join the likes of Dan Mangan, Elliot Brood, the Arkells, Austra, Arcade Fire and Coeur de Pirate.
