FROM THE POMP AND PAGEANTRY TO THE CONCERT AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE CBC NEWS BRINGS CANADIANS THE MOST COVERAGE OF QUEEN ELIZABETH'S DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS LIVE FROM LONDON JUNE 1 - 5

As Queen Elizabeth   II celebrates her Diamond Jubilee marking 60 years on the throne, CBC News   brings Canadians the most coverage of the spectacle and ceremony surrounding   this milestone occasion—from live coverage of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant   and the National Service of Thanksgiving to the exclusive-to-CBC broadcast of   the star-studded Concert at Buckingham Palace.

Friday, June 1 - Tuesday, June 5: THE   NATIONAL with Peter Mansbridge broadcasts   from London. Stories include a behind-the-scenes look at all the   preparations; a group of breast cancer survivors who   started dragon boating and will be part of the Thames Jubilee Pageant; and   Jubilee enthusiasts from around the world enjoying the celebrations. THE   NATIONAL airs weekdays at 10 p.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC-TV; 9, 10   and 11 p.m. ET/PT on CBC News Network. (*On June 4, The National follows   Hockey Night in Canada on CBC-TV in most markets, check the website for airtimes.) THE   NATIONAL airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. ET on CBC-TV and CBC News Network. It airs   Sundays at 10 p.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC-TV; 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBC News Network.

Sunday, June 3: THE THAMES   DIAMOND JUBILEE PAGEANT, live on CBC-TV at 9:30 a.m. ET and CBC News Network and CBCNews.ca at 9 a.m. ET. The   pageant features up to 1,000 boats on the Thames River, assembled from across   the U.K., the Commonwealth and around the world. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh   will travel in the Royal Barge, forming the centrepiece of the flotilla. Peter   Mansbridge hosts the broadcast, with reporters Susan Ormiston, Anne-Marie   Mediwake and Heather Hiscox. Ciara Hunt provides commentary.

Monday, June 4: CBC NEWS NOW with Heather Hiscox broadcasts live from   London, beginning at 6 a.m. ET, on CBC News Network. On June 2 and 3, Hiscox   will also file reports from London for CBC News Network. CBC News is also   looking for Canadians’ Royal Encounters, encouraging Canadians to   send in their pictures of the Queen, taken during her 22   royal visits to Canada, as well as photos of other members of her family during   their Canadian tours. CBC News will use submissions on CBC News Network, as well   as in a unique online interactive, beginning June 1. To submit: upload   photos or videos to the CBC Your News   Community.

Monday, June 4 - Tuesday, June   5: WORLD AT SIX with Alison Smith   broadcasts live from London. WORLD AT SIX airs at 6 p.m. (6:30 NT) on CBC   Radio One. On June 2 and 3, Smith will also file reports from London for THE   WORLD THIS WEEKEND.

Tuesday, June   5: THE NATIONAL SERVICE OF   THANKSGIVING, live on CBC-TV, CBC News Network and CBCNews.ca at 4:30 a.m.  ET (*Note: When Kids’ CBC programming begins at 7 a.m. local time on CBC-TV,  viewers can switch over to CBC News Network to continue watching live   coverage.). The Queen and other members of the   Royal Family will attend a national service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s   Cathedral. This will be followed by the Processional Route by Carriage through the   streets of London to Buckingham Palace, followed by a balcony appearance by the   Royal Family and a Royal Air Force fly-past. Peter Mansbridge hosts the   broadcast, with reporters Susan Ormiston, Anne-Marie Mediwake and Heather   Hiscox. Ciara Hunt provides commentary.

Tuesday,  June 5: THE DIAMOND JUBILEE CONCERT AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE,  7 p.m. (7:30 NT), exclusively on CBC-TV. From outside   Buckingham Palace, with The Queen and other members of the Royal Family in   attendance, the Diamond Jubilee Concert features the very best of British,  Commonwealth and international talent from across the last 60 years. Scheduled acts   include Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Madness, Cliff Richard, Shirley Bassey,  Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Lang Lang and more. Peter   Mansbridge presents the concert special, which is exclusive to CBC Television.

On Sunday, June 3, CBC News   Network’s THE PASSIONATE EYE airs Diamond Queen, an   intimate, three-part look at The Queen’s life and reign through the eyes of   Prince William and other Royal Family members. The documentary closely follows   her working engagements around the world for the period of more than a year and   a half. Part 1 airs at 6 and 10 p.m. ET, Part 2 airs at 8 and 11 p.m. ET, and   Part 3 airs at 1 a.m. ET.
