CBC today announced the 10 amateur bakers who will compete on THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW, premiering Wednesday, November 1 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT). Over the course of eight episodes, this group of diverse bakers from across the country will whip, whisk, ice and knead their way through a series of culinary themed challenges. Each week, they will compete against themselves to achieve their personal best in baking, while hoping to last through the series in order to take the Great Canadian Baking Show title. Based on the beloved British format, THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW is hosted by actor and writer Daniel Levy and actor Julia Chan. The series judges are esteemed pastry chefs Bruno Feldeisen and Rochelle Adonis.
Each week, the bakers will compete in three challenges, bringing their own style and unique backgrounds to light through their sumptuous creations. Every episode features the Signature Bake, the Technical Bake and the Show Stopper. After the bakes are tested and critiqued, the judges will decide who the week’s Star Baker is and who will be sent home. In the final episode, three bakers remain and will vie for the title of Canada’s best amateur baker. Meet the bakers below.
