CBC TO PROVIDE NATIONAL BROADCAST OF VIRTUAL COMMUNITY VIGIL

  “NOVA SCOTIA REMEMBERS” FRIDAY AT 7 PM AT (6 ET)

 

CBC News Special: Nova Scotia Remembers will broadcast nationally
on CBC News Network, CBC Gem, cbcnews.ca and the CBC News app,
 and on CBC TV and CBC Radio in Atlantic Canada

 

April 22, 2020 — In response to the tragic events in Nova Scotia this past weekend, CBC will provide a national television and streaming broadcast of community vigil NOVA SCOTIA REMEMBERS on Friday, April 24 at 6 p.m. ET (7 AT, 7:30 NT) on CBC News Network, CBC Gemcbcnews.ca and the CBC News app, and also on CBC TV and CBC Radio in Nova Scotia, P.E.I., New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. The CBC News special will be hosted on TV and streaming platforms by CBC Nova Scotia’s Tom Murphy, and on radio by CBC Nova Scotia’s Jeff Douglas.

 

The locally organized virtual vigil will pay tribute to the victims and offer support to affected families, including musical tributes and messages of support and hope from dignitaries and notable figures who have a special connection to Nova Scotia.

 

The community organizers of NOVA SCOTIA REMEMBERS will also stream the vigil on Facebook and YouTube, with all links to be made available at heartcolchester.ca.

 

CBC News Network continues to be available for free through most major television service providers and on the free CBC Gem streaming service during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
