CBC‘s HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA and CBCMusic.ca have been searching for inspirational, energetic songs to excite hockey fans from coast to coast and get the nation’s heart pounding, in this year’s edition of Song Quest.

Close to 1000 songs were submitted. From there, fans voted for the Top 50 and now the Top 10. Judges Sara Quin, Theo Fleury, Joel Plaskett, Chantal Kreviazuk and P.J. Stock helped to determine the top 10 songs that will face off in the Song Quest finals.

The winning song will be announced during the 2014 Bridgestone Winter Classic® on January 1, 2014 on CBC-TV. The broadcast begins at 12:30 pm ET. The song will be professionally produced by Joel Plaskett and featured in a video montage for an opening sequence of a future HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA broadcast. The winner of the competition will also travel to Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan to perform their song during the Stolen from a Hockey Card concert brought to you by Scotiabank on Jan. 16, 2014 as part of the Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada festivities.
